The Autumn Knitwear Edit: Pastel Hues

Welcome to episode one of The Autumn Knitwear Edit: a series of posts on my favourite knitwear pieces for your transitional wardrobe. Starting with pastel knitwear to make your soul sing. Who says pastels have to be for spring and summer only…this season has some of the most beautiful transitional knitwear on the high street in all the pastel hues, and I am digging it! It’s like the perfect way to wave a cheery adios to summer and welcome in autumn without going full-on dark soul from the offset.

I have chosen some pastel shades that are sophisticated and timeless, and not girly and twee. Shop my edit of autumn knitwear in pastel tones to not only remain on top of one of this season’s biggest trends, but all while sticking to an affordable budget and not crashing your credit card. This whole post is shoppable for your ease, just click the pic and go straight to add that beautiful product to basket.

Mint Green

Lets have a look at some of the yummiest mint green options on the high street. This colour suits soooo many skin tones and can be paired with everything from denim, to faux leather, to pleated skirts. I love it most with cream, camel and tan, all of which nod to the autumn season while not weighing down the lightness of the green.

Dusky Pink

In case you hadn’t already noticed, I am an eternal fan of dusky pink hues. I love that dusky pink is an earthy deep tone that crosses from summer to autumn perfectly. If you follow me on instagram @pagesofemma you will know that I have used dusky pink throughout the house because it is grown up and elegant without being too girly…even my skincare favourites are dusky pink! But, don’t want to paint your walls pink? Then try the colour out with a jumper first and I reckon you will never look back.

I will let you in on a secret, dusky pink paired with mint green is also a match made in heaven. Although this blog post is all about the knitwear, why not couple one of the mint green cardis above with this pair of comfy practical easy peasy trousers from H&M. If you’re feeling slightly less adventurous, pair with light colours like whites and creams, really dark like black and denim, or rusty orangey tones for an autumnal vibe.

Pale Blue

The ideal colour for pairing with white, navy, grey and denim for a fresh classic look, pale blue softens the edges of these contrasting colours and ties the whole look together.

The beautiful thing about all of these pastel colours is that your knitwear purchases can take you through the seasons and remain totally wearable. There isn’t a single season of the year that you don’t pull on some blue denims and/or a white t-shirt and whatever matches those perfectly can be worn again and again without waste.

Watch out for my continued Autumn Knitwear Edit in other forthcoming posts…next up is Classic Neutrals.
