This year I am creating a series of posts dedicated to sharing autumn knitwear ideas and this one on timeless neutral knitwear is the second in my series. I have already published on one of this seasons biggest trends, grown-up pastels, which you can read here, but if pastels are not quite your thing and you’re looking for something with a little less colour and a little more neutral then read on.
Over the last few years, I have watched the growth of classic neutrals and rise of the 50 shades of greige (aka grey-beige) trend, in not just fashion but also in a move to more natural makeup looks and neutral home decor styles. Neutral on neutral styling is here to stay and I am so on board the neutral love train. My home decor is 90% neutral base with a splash of colour thrown in for interest and I love that this same approach can so easily be taken to fashion styling too.
One of my favourite instagram accounts to follow is Laura Byrnes @lauraslittlelocket thanks to her insanely elegant and feminine neutral style. And today I want to bring you a slice of that neutral class with my selection of autumn knitwear in neutral shades.
Affordable Autumn Fashion
One thing I can promise here at Pages of Emma is that any of my style picks are always going to be affordable high street fashion. I share the items that I know I can afford too, and not the items that are outside of my spend bracket. But I also try to focus on choosing things that meet my spend limit but that are also re-wearable, timeless, classic, and that justify the spend. I share variety because we are all different shapes and sizes and can find that one or other brand simply fits our body shape better.
My must have autumn knitwear item
This cardigan pictured below is the favourite one I have ever purchased. I have worn it so much this year and every time I have received lots of compliments on it. It is a simple white fluffy knit with detail buttons and it matches absolutely everything. I have worn it from winter, through spring and into summer. And I have found you the new season version!
